Came across a video that Unexpected Company made when they played our Festival last November.

Great show coming up

Corey and I have been invited by the N Crowd to do our two man show...

weekend recap

I met up with Leah on Friday and went over to her Mom's house in Cherry Hill. They were out of town, so Leah was dog sitting for Gemini and Atticus. We hung out there, ate a great dinner and watched Kicking and Screaming. Even in a kids movie, Will Ferrell is brilliant. And that movie just reconfirmed how much I love Rachel Harris and Laura Kightlinger.

Saturday we had our show in New Hope. That was quite a strange affair. It was for the Over the Rainbow GLBT Festival. Ready to kill Gabe as he started with gay jokes the moment we started warming up. I told him if he did any I would bitch slap him. He stayed away from them after TD basically said the same thing two minutes later. So we were hired by this company called In Development... and we were to do a show to draw attention to their booth. So not only was there not a stage, but there wasn't even really a booth. Just a 5x10 space in front of their table. And since we didn't have a captive crowd but instead passer-bys... we decided to do 10min sets of tagouts. It functioned well enough for unrehearsed street theatre. The cops came by a few times, not quite understanding what we were doing. The kicker though was that little did we know we were to be models for the apparel that In Development sold. So there we were, sporting Diesel shirts with sayings like "I Lost My Virginity In Madagascar." We got to keep the shirts. Ha!

Last night was the show at Fergies. Pretty decent, though ready to kill Gabe again, as I am on almost a weekly basis. This time it was jumping the gun for the spotlight of the monologue (big surprise there, right?) and being in just about every scene. Also coming in as inanimate objects and animals. A talking bush? Thanks. Oh, and can I see that fish face one more time? Pretty please?

Does anyone know a good assassin?

lots of shows

Quite a few shows coming up...

The Ninjas have a gig in New Hope on Saturday for the Gay & Lesbian Fest up there. There'll be four of us performing. I know that Tony, Jon and I are in... but I don't know if the fourth will be Kevin or Mr. Gabriel himself. One can only pray. Sunday we play Fergies. Last month there was a great turnout, so I hope we see that again.

Next Thursday, Corey and I are bringing Men About Town to the SHP. It's been awhile, and we need to get some rehearsal time in. But I am confident that we are going to rock it.

Then starting the 30th, the Ninjas will begin their weekly run at the Raven Lounge. Free shows every Tuesday from 9-11pm. It's a great space... very intimate. Great Poe theme.

pros and cons of city living

A few discoveries I made yesterday...

Having a washer and dryer in the basement of my building: good
Finding out after many, many loads that it's quicker and cheaper at the laundromat down the street: bad then, good for the future

Being five blocks from a grocery store: good
Finding out after spending too much at Whole Foods that there's a much cheaper Super Fresh across the street: bad then, good for the future

Being a block and a half from the Tritone: good
Realizing that I am a block and a half from the Tritone on $3 PBR/Jim Beam night: good then, very bad this morning
